Australian flag ordered removed

The council received a complaint about a flag and the owner of the flagpole, flying the Australian flag, was ordered to remove it.

Read more here and here.

Update:
The logan mayor has said that the council will try to work it out so that the flag can stay - anyone who is offended by the Australian flag in Australia shouldn't be in Australia!

Kae, this would be damn funny if it weren't so pathetic.

There are communities all over this country with 'no-flag-flying' in their by-laws. I wouldn't live in such a place. Hell, I painted my house Kailua Bay Green with Hawai'ian Blue trim & shutters. It's bright. Couldn't do it in any of the new beige developments, but this one's been here a long time & the 'rules' - IF any exist - are somewhat relaxed. We park in our front yards, too.

Now that I've regaled you with personal blather, I gotta suggest they rewrite their by-laws, requiring a face-to-face written complaint for such "offenses." And add another by-law which states that flying the flag of the country where you LIVE is NOT offensive!

Ok, enough of that, off to read myself to sleep. Thanks, Kae!
