Chinese Propaganda Display of the XXIX Olympiad: a glorious failure

The Chinese Propaganda Display of the XXIX Olympiad seems to have been a glorious failure for China.

Some of the unacceptable events in China have included the stifling of dissent (not unusual there), jailing of grannies, silencing of the press, stifling of protests - and nobody's been fooled.

The Olympics are supposed to be about so much more than sport.

China has proved it, their propaganda has failed. I'm sure that nobody's been fooled.

The latest from China?
Thousands of farmers, he writes, face ruin because their water has been cut off to guarantee supplies to the Olympics in Beijing, and officials are now trying to cover up a grotesque scandal of blunders, lies and repression.
