Mum - update

Just so's you know, after Mum's bout with thyroid cancer and surgery to remove the whole thyroid in mid July, she's having round 2 on Monday.

They're going to electrocute her.
No, wait. That's not right.

It's nuclear. Yeah. Irradiation therapy? Iodine?

She's not at all impressed. Nothing with iodine in it. Do you have any idea of all the foods with iodine in them? Needless to say, everything that Mum likes to eat, starting with dairy foods.

She's got to be totally separate from everyone for a few days in hospital, then it's ten days without going anywhere near children. (She still supplements her self funded retirement with occasional relief teaching jobs at a private school. And now, more than ever, she'll need to so that she can pay her medical bills... she's insured.)

This treatment should get rid of all the nasties.

She's also had other health issues which were being investigated when the cancer was discovered by accident!

Mum's cranky with having the treatment etc, as she's always been so healthy and thought that after the surgery the treatment would be over or simple from then on. Oh dear.
