Patrick McGoohan was offered the role of James Bond (on the basis of his Danger Man role). He refused the Bond role because he could not bring himself to be associated with the loose morality & promiscuity of the Bond character.
McGoohan had played the Danger Man role only on the condition that the character kept his shirt on and was chaste in all dealings with ladies.
At no time in his career did he ever compromise, or regret, his firm family values.

Yes “Danger Man” in 1960.
A class act.
