When you get to the bottom of the hole...

It seems that Marcus Einfeld doesn't know to stop digging.

I hadn't caught the title of the programme until it aired. "The Dishonouring of Marcus Einfeld." What? Sounds like something done to him. The title should have been "The Dishonour of Marcus Einfeld".

I also noticed that there was a an aboriginal woman, a character witness, who talked of all the good works that Einfeld had done in the aboriginal community she was from.
SARAH FERGUSON: But Einfeld did get results in Toomelah. Housing sewerage, roads and water were all improved.

And a bridge was built to enable the locals to get out when the river was high.

MADELINE MCGRADY, TOOMELAH ELDER: It was just so overwhelming for us as Aboriginal people living in despair and poverty all our lives, and to suddenly have this man walk into our community.

It was just unbelievable. Like I said, you know, to us at that time he was like, South Africa had a Mandela. We had Justice Einfeld come into our community. And that's exactly the way we felt about it.
Read the transcript here, it's unbelievable how Einfeld talks of deliberately lying, then excusing it, and talking of not being a bad person.

This opinion from a viewer is beyond belief!

Having known Marcus Einfeld for 15 years and all the good work and work he did tirelessly for the underdogs of Australia and his friends and community gratis I think it disgusting that Australia has repaid him this way. a man of honour with no criminal record has been treated worse than a murderer or rapist!! What a sick society we live in. Humans make mistakes and having suffered the fall from grace both in terms of reputation and financial ruin - is that not enough??
More inside about Einfeld's comments and views while championing of illegal immigrant/detainees here.

Kae, the ALP attracts strange people. Marcus is a protected person. "This opinion from a viewer is beyond belief!" No not to me. Again, the ALP attracts strange people.

Many people don't know the difference between a mistake, lying, and perjury. Everyone makes mistakes. Most people lie at one time or another. But perjury is a different matter altogether. A lot of what I've read lately on this matter doesn't even mention the word perjury.

I think the hypocrisy of being found guilty of perjury whilst once being a leading custodian of the law says it all. I also don't think too many people know what hypocrisy means.

Trash and treasure ...

Kae...if I'm digging and I stop, that IS the bottom of the hole, right? I don't HAVE to keep digging.

Friend of mine says when she put down the bottle, she discovered it was attached to the shovel - and that bottom was as far down as she plans to EVER go.
