Hollywood compassion, comparison & analysis by Christopher Hitchens

...Paul Shaffer feels he perhaps ought to say something about Phil Spector's conviction for the murder of another human being whose name most people cannot remember.

So he does say something. "I regret all the tragedy that has surrounded Phil in recent years," is what he chooses to say. Not really even a try, let alone a nice try.

More here.

Thanks to my friend W.

Note to Paul Schaffer; Phil is a borderline sociopath who shot a woman in the face and killed her. Please excuse me, have to go bang my head on the table

Heya Carpe,

Phil is a borderline sociopath, for sure, and it follows that Polanski is a borderline pedophile. But let’s take that a bit further. They both crossed the line in the sand long ago, even as the arts scenesters were busy reflecting, interpreting… and re-engineering bourgeois constraints like sand and lines and morality and sanity.

These guys are frikkin’ pioneers, man!

Well, to loosely paraphrase an old idiom; live fast, act like an asshole and die in jail.
