I have a prickle in my foot

I can't get my foot around to look at it and see whether I can see the prickle or feel it to get some tweezers and pull it out.

It's the same if I get a splinter. I usually get it where I can't pull it out myself!

Arrgh. Curse living alone.

I don't live alone but I don't have anyone here that will pull splinters or stickers out. I have heard or read that spreading white glue (Elmer's) over the area, then letting it dry and peeling it off works, but have never tried it. Someone once mentioned using 100mile-an-hour tape, too. That's what I'm trying next time I get one.

Hi kc
I'm thinking sticking plaster....

Mini
It's on the outside of my foot, and a mirror won't help because it's too awkward to get it near enough to my face to see a splinter, even with glasses on. My arms aren't long enough and I can't reach it.

Let Floyd lick it out for you.
That's how he would get a splinter out of his own foot.
And dog spit has well-known curative and antiseptic powers.
(Don't, under any circumstances, allow a cat to do it. Their spit is highly toxic and can lead to the terminal illness, cat scratch fever).

Hi Skeeter, long time no see
Floyd's not a real licky dog.
Hey! I had lunch with someone I work with and her Mum lives quite near my brother and SIL on the coast! Small world!

Skeeter,
How's your lychees coming along?
I fear all this rain we're having will decimate the fruit set of local mangoes. They're already pretty dear!

Kae, good blossom on all trees this year.
Maca flowers all eaten by caterpillars so no crop there until 2012 at the earliest.
Mangoes set OK but pea-sized fruit now rotting off in the early wet. Expect enough fruit for the bats and none for us.
Lychees still showing some promise for a domestic crop in January 2011. (Drop in if you're visiting this part of the electorate after about 7 Jan).
Environmentalist regulations forced the end of viable farming on our land about 4 years ago. We haven't had anything to sell since we stopped spraying and fertilising in 2006.
The joys of "organic" farming!
