Wakefield MMR/Autism link study exposed as a fraud

This is old news, it was published on January 6, 2011 in The Australian and on various internet sites, but I think it is important and should be widely circulated. Too many people will still believe that the study was above board.

Andew Wakefield's study was the result of some fishing by litigious people and those seeking to make a fast buck from the pharmaceutical companies, Wakefield pocketed over $US600k to supply the result which was required to prove the MMR/autism connection.

Read The Australian's article here.

The real health risk of ignoring junk science, an interesting take on the Wakefield revelation.

I never believed this. No proof, of course, just didn't like the lack of specifics we got when we first heard it reported. Whenever the ones who stand to benefit are behind the study which "proves" something, I am a skeptic. My sister, on the other hand, believes it to this day. She's also a Handmaiden of Algore. 'Nuff said, eh?

Do you suppose that the study which said ONE cigarette changes the body enough to cause lung cancer will be similarly disproved? If you look at who does the study (you know, "Follow the Money"), it seems that may come to pass. Of course, now I'm in a hurry and can't find the article I read...

Have a good day, Kae, glad you and yours are well and dry.
