“Some people are like Slinkies - not really good for anything,
but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.”
The support by Paul Howes of Israel’s right to exist is to be commended. But let’s not forget, these are the words of a trade union National Secretary. The dagger is never far behind the cloak. Howes accuses the Palestinians of “corruption and mafia-style thuggery”. Yes, true story, old pot, that’s a black kettle there all right. And this:The great Aussie word 'cobber', evoking this quality of mateship, is said, by some academics, to originate from the Yiddish/Hebrew word of 'chaver'.Blimey! It could also mean comrade too, cobber, depending on what kind of “nation building” you have in mind.
Israel has unions, probably until they tire of them too.
