About relationships

MP Bill Shorten dumps wife for Quentin Bryce's daughter

The parliamentary secretary for disabilities and children's services separated from his wife, Deborah Beale, in the past month and is understood to be in a relationship with Chloe Bryce, The Sunday Telegraph reports.

Mr Shorten, who was formerly the Australian Workers' Union national secretary, has been touted as a future Labor leader for several years.

He is understood to have broken the news to Ms Beale at an AFL game at the MCG a month ago.
Marriages break up all the time, it's a sad thing, even when the marriage has been over for a long time. There is no right time to end a relationship, well, there is. When a relationship is dead it is time to end it. Violence and abuse are signs that the relationship is over (or should be).

Although there is no right time to end a relationship, there is a right way.

Having read the piece in the Australian it reads like the relationship is a connection of convenience. Any announcement of this type should be kept very short and to the point.
