Further to the 9:40 birthday post...

Excellent card from MDFD*:

To go with this card, MDFD* gave me this book, which she found at the Uni's second-hand book sale a few months ago and thought "That's perfect for kae's birthday... I'll buy it!"

The problem is that the first thing the book talks about is "Couples". Well, all I have to do is find myself a bloke. Sure. Easy. No problems.

I'm so stuffed. Totally.

I got this card from my lovely neighbours...

How is it to turn 50? Same as turning 20, 30, 40. Feels the same. Everyone assures me it's great, it's the start of the second half of my life. Fabulous. I'm sure it'd be easier if I had someone to share it with.

I am thankful for every day, because they have become precious to me, as I said yesterday, so the upcoming birthday will be another good day in a string of good days.

But I gotta say, having had a bloke for well over 20 years now, I can assure you that there are times it is VASTLY overrated. And I'm positive he feels exactly the same way!

Spring Chicken!

Bork, bork, bork...

Yup, I think I must be a spring chicken... born in September!

A 9 month late Christmas pressie for, hmm. Mum or Dad?

And kc,
I'd rather be exasperated by having a bloke than not share my life with someone.
That's why we have hobbies and lots of rooms in the house. And blokes have sheds!

My brother is 14 months older than me, born almost exactly 41 weeks after they married. I was my parents' 2nd anniversary present - 2 years & a day after the folks married.

Thanks for the reminder, Kae. My divorced friends are either frantically searching for the identity they think they'll have if they've got a mate, or almost beligerent in their "single-personhood." I don't want to join those clubs & I'm glad you don't fit either of their templates! I have a couple single male friends but I don't play Cupid anymore...even if you were just down the street, which you aren't.
