ABC Australian Story - Giveaway children

DOCS ruined her life because they took all her children away?

Well, the first time DOCS stepped in she had four children, was on drugs and in an abusive relationship. DOCS decided it was the best for the children to be fostered.

Then the mother became pregnant again. With twins. The same foster mother took these two children in, after a struggle to keep all the siblings together, and one of the twins also has disabilities.

There is a court order that the children only need to spend two hours per month with their birth mother. Recently it has been decided that the court order for access willl be enforced. One child does not want to see her birth mother at all. The children are growing up.

The foster mother was always happy to have the birth mother and grandmother involved with the children, after all, they were family.

The foster mother sends the children to private school. She is in her late forties and must work to keep the children in private school.

The birth mother is now thirty and has been off drugs for over 12 months. She's also pregnant again. It looks like she will block the foster mother of her other six children from having her seventh child if this child is taken away from her to be fostered. The twins no longer seem to recognise her as their mother. The birth mother seems to think that she is a victim in this. A victim of DOCS, a victim of the fostering. It's all been done to her. And it's unjustified.

The foster mother and the children live in a lovely home and it appears that they want for nothing and are loved very, very much. She wants child No. 7 to come to her so that the children will be a family together.

Read the transcript here.

I have no qualms with the welfare and wellbeing of the children being the main concern of the authorities, and that children must sometimes be taken from their parents.

I think that the birth mother should wake up. She is not a victim, unless it is of her own bad decisions in life.

To give up the seventh child is an admittance by the birth mother than she's a promiscuous and incompetent failure who had no business having seven children.

Afternoon all, i saw this program and this 'mother' seems reluctant to acknowledge her p1ss poor parent performance, (it sounds funky when you sing it). RebeccaH, you make a fine point when this woman is already contemplating having bub # 7 removed.

Cheers

I suspect the mother thinks she's OK to keep No. 7, she's turned her life around 180 she says, off the drugs for 12 months. Her track record being what it is I suspect she's preparing for the baby to be removed. She's also bad mouthing the woman who has looked after her children, loved them and been the mother she could never be.

I'm glad I don't work for DOCS.

We don't sterilise people any more, but sometimes the old scalpel finger starts to get itchy......

Surely society has a right to sterilise this woman, or at least offer it to her. Maybe in return for $10,000 cash which would be cheaper than what she and her offspring will cost society.

She is totally irresponsible and fornicates probably for social welfare benefits. How many different men are involved here? The children are the victims and this woman needs to have her tubes tied before she brings another half dozen human victims into the world.

The majority of these children become tomorrow's criminals. Mehaul.

First, the four children were taken away from her. Three years ago. She had a "partner" who was abusive, they were both on drugs.

I don't think she gets any social welfare benefits.

She's pregnant with her seventh child and trying to blackmail the woman who has the others by saying "I don't think I want her to have my seventh baby, she's changed....", and she's talking about being sterilised (I think it's because she may have realised that her track record is so bad that she won't get to keep any more children she has).

My guess is that every time she gets the parenting payment for having a child, she goes to the drug dealer to celebrate...

A victim of uncrossing-of-legs or failed contraceptives.

Indeed, already contemplating who she does or does not want to take custody of a baby not even born yet?

Not exactly a poster-child for motherhood.

Kudos to the foster mother. Don't know how she does it. A better person than me, that's for sure. Those children are extremely fortunate. They will grow up to be fine citizens.
