I thought the best question was asked by the young bloke in the audience: How come Bush's surge (which worked in Iraq) was treated by the media as bad, and Obama's surge (which is not yet effective in Afghanistan) is treated by the media as good?
Might have had something to do with the stated reasons for going in at the beginning of each conflict. One was bullshit - the other was legit. I'll leave you to work out which is which.
