Queensland State Election III - Queensland appears to be toast

Electoral Commission of Queensland 2009 State Election Site.

ABC Elections 2009 Queensland Election site. (live audio and live video stream)

My electorate of Lockyer has always been a safe National Party seat, here is the info on Lockyer at the ABC Qld election site.

This time I looked at the ballot and was amazed... Green, LNP and ALP.

The federal seat of Blair, which takes in my electorate, was thought to be a safe National seat. In 2004 the Liberal candidate romped in with 52.2% of the vote. After this there was a bit of a boundary redistribution and Blair got some of Oxley. Things got interesting in 2007 when the ALP candidate won the seat (which now took in a lot of Ipswich, part a safe ALP seat Oxley, which Pauline Hanson had contested and won from the ALP. But that's a whole other story!

(If I've cocked anything up please let me know! I've never been brilliant at history! I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday. I blame age and senior moments, all my life.)

Update:
Bligh justified her early election call because of the crisis and said that Queensland needed a leader. Whether Bligh or Springborg. And having the election in September, amidstream so to speak, wasn't a good idea. Crock. Of. Shit. She called it early because the polls said she'd win it several weeks out from the election.

The ALP dead do like to vote early and often. So I await the count.

Hi Stacks

I reckon we're screwed here in Qld. I wish Bligh and the ALP were toast. They SHOULD be toast.

Everyone's right. Queenslanders are idiots*. Must be something in the water.

*Disclaimer: I am from Sydney... and they're not idiots. They voted for... arr

nevermind.

And God save Australia from the Greens - and the 'tards in the Daylight Saving mob who handed their preferences to the Greens...
They're all bloody morons.

It was always going to be a big ask for the LNP to win - Labor's majority was so large.

Well at least in my electorate of Glasshouse - the LNP looks like taking it off Labor.

Redistribution reduced Labor's support in Glasshouse - so the sitting member is now contesting Pine Rivers.

Hurrah for Glasshouse.

And maybe even Indooroopilly...

kae, I never underestimate the gullibility of the majority. The ALP media is always there to help too.

ALP media?

That's just about all of the MSM.

Fools.

Didn't the Courier Mail editorialize in support of the LNP?
This meme has whiskers on it.

ALP media. Just about all of the MSM.

If you can't see the media bias to the ALP you must be blind.

Meme? Pfft.

Oh, and if you're going to comment here give a name. Anonymous doesn't cut it.

Well kae,
Queenslanders are either happy with the performance of the labor gov. or they are insane!

The proof of insanity: Do the same thing over and over again, and expect a different outcome!

I think for the ALP voters it's a split between insanity and happy (stupid).

Then there's the ones who don't like Springborg.

Good reason not to vote for a party. 'Cos you aren't voting for the individual, you're voting for the party.
