Update:
Apparently the open water swimming event was cancelled because the water was deemed too cold.
A little more here... and here... note the caption on the photo... "dissapointed".
But that's OK. All those who travelled half way around the world to enter the games will have their registration/entry monies refunded. But only if this was their only event.
