Weather

It's pouring and it's only 14C* tonight.

Brrr.

I guess the weather's getting back to normal for La Nina.

I wish I'd cleaned out the gutters....

There's some grass growing up there.

* Updated:
Someone stole the temperature!

Update II:
Checked the rain gauge. It was pouring, and thundering and lightninging... it was raining a lot of the day, too...
8mm.

Do you know kae, have had every injection possible, but have still come down with a cold.
It has been about 2 here most mornings [live in a country area not Adelaide itself] but you win hands down with that 0.

Hi Merilyn
No, for some strange reason the numbers disappeared. It was 14.
I think it didn't get too cold last night, the coldest it's been is a low of 5 (maybe a bit lower, almost all the leaves burnt and dropped off the frangipani). But it's not really winter yet.

Hi kae, I thought you cleaned the gutters a few weeks ago?

What happened?

Yes, I know. It either rained or my shoulder was giving me trouble. I'm not real good with ladders, and I only found the equipment I use to clean the gutters out a week ago. Long tongs and a gutter cleaning/scraping tool.
I should do it this weekend if it is fine...
Along with everything else I need to do.

from memory your house is on a slab, so the gutter can't be higher then ten feet.

So a cleaning tool fitted onto a six foot pole (no, a Chech or Hungarian will not do, it has to be a pole)
should do the trick.

This way you can just walk around the house, no ladders required.

I think some of us gave you this gratuitous advise before?

Settled into the new job OK?
Cheers

Is that you Lou?

No, that won't work. There are brackets every 2 feet or so... it's a pain, up and down the ladder is what kills, and I've been to the physio three times in the last 8 working days... not supposed to carry stuff, and the ladder isn't light, even tho it's a bailey.

*sigh*

Oh, and the house is 26M long, gutters front and about 3/4 of the back.

Stop bragging about the rain, we are still waiting on the last flood waters you had up there, they seem to have vanished.
Glad you explained about the temp, thought I was having a senior moment when I saw that 14c.
Still at the physio? Ouch, ouch ouch!

Hi Merilyn
Friday, Tuesday & Friday and again on Tuesday next week.
I'm sick of it. It's like a cramp. A constant pain behind the shoulder blade, aching. If it's not that, it's the cramp which is the collarbone, shoulder and neck.

Trust me, I'm over it.

Last Wednesday night it didn't hurt at all for about, oooh, two hours. I sleep on my side and that's problematic when I can't get to sleep on the 'good side'.

If I was a horse they'd shoot me.

Hi Kae. Long time no comment.

Just thought I'd drop in and let you know that its down to 15.1 at my place at half 3 in the morning. Half 5 your time I believe.

I had a couple too many red bulls before I went Go Karting in the rain. It was fantastic fun, until the plastic seat filled up with water under my bum. Actually, it was great even after the first 30 seconds too...

I'm sure the whiskey and cokes I've had in the mean time (to keep warm) have nothing to do with me being up at this un Godly hour...

Being the Gentleman that I am, I'd offer to come over and do your gutters, but you'd have to wait behind my folks who've been waiting for 2 months already.

Cheers
Woz

Just a thought kae, but have you had that area x-rayed?
You most probably have, but it is rather a large area to have so much pain and you have my sympathy.
By the way the cold and rain won't be helping all that much either, leave the gutters until you can cope otherwise you could do more damage.

Hi Woz
Thanks for the offer, but I think you should fix up your parents' gutters first... but if your up around this way...

Merilyn
Hi I had it x-rayed when it was first injured. It's a physio thing. It's to do with my spine and neck, and probably the whiplash. Trust me, it's not as sore as it was last week!

Kae, if I may make a suggestion...find a Thai yoga massage. After my last wreck in '97, I went for phys.therapy fairly often - stingers, cramping, all sorts of stuff including that spot in the middle of my back like you. Got my own tens unit, even. But what really kept me almost completely symptom-free was the ol man learning Thai yoga massage on his last deployment (he spent much time in Thailand on that one), then bought a book and practiced on me and a friend in Hawai'i. I swear to you, if I get a couple of those a month (which I don't so much anymore), the bulging disc, the strained muscles, the arthritic fingers and toes ALL sorta go by the wayside. The arthritis has advanced to needing NSAID gel every day, but everything else works BEAUTIFULLY if I get that Thai yoga massage. Maybe you could find relief with something similar?

TW is "bless" - LOVE it!
