I was able to see this Cathedral in person in the period January 1974 to January 1977. I was assigned aboard the USS Independence and made two deployments to the Mediterranean Sea. Barcelona became a favourite liberty port for me. Even with the sheer size of the city, one could just walk to enjoy it. And there was that excellent Metro!
