As you may know I send parcels to soldiers/sailors/airmen/airwomen deployed overseas myself and for the local RSL - I'm also involved in the site Ocean, Sky & Khaki to get that info out about about how to send parcels to Aussie service people deployed overseas.
On Monday I received a card from the PO to pick up an item of mail.
Today I was able to get there before closing.
I was delighted to see it was from AFPO 13, Afghanistan.
It contained a postcard with a brief note of thanks and a beautiful pashmina.
I am delighted.
I wish I could thank the person who sent it.... so if you are out there, thanks so much, it's lovely!

[Had to go look that up] what a lovely gesture, enjoy wearing it, er, that is if it is a scarf?
Hi Merilyn
It's a wide one, not a scarf but a genuine pashmina, 70% goat belly wool (cashmere) and 30% silk.
It's beautiful!
Check out the ones at pashminainternational.com.au
they're mostly single colours. These ones aren't expensive and if I remember I might buy a couple for my mum and SIL as gifts. They feel divine!
Karma.
Diggers on ops aren't renowned for their thoughtfulness, Kae.
You found one. Well done that man/woman in the sandpit.
Beautiful gift for a beautiful person. FROM a beautiful person. Lovely, all 'round.
Just been in for a look Kae, you are right they are lovely. Will keep that address so if Dad wants me to get Mum another scarf this year will know where to go. [Thanks for that address].
What's truly lovely, Kae, is your concern and thoughts for the troops.
Well done.
