I just retired after nearly 40 years in aerospace. Overall the job was a blast but doing almost anything for that long can wear you down. My internal clock still wakes me up far too early—my work-day used to start at 6:00 am—and I have to tip-toe around the house so I don't disturb She Who Must Be Obeyed.
