Australians all, let us rejoice!

Australians all, let us rejoice
For we are young and free
With golden soil and wealth for toil
Our home is girt by sea.

Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty, rich and rare
On history's page at every stage
Advance Australia fair!
MMm. That's a little stuffy for Australia day.

Have a great day, Australians all - celebrate what we have!

Same to you Kae, and to Merilyn.

Nice choice there - love "This is Australia" and John Williamson.

I used see a blue Walkinshaw drive past 25 years back in Epping with "Wattle" number plates, and the same bloke in another car plated "Koala". I found it was Williamson, who lived down the other end of my (mile long) street, with lots of daughters as I recall. He is a worthy Aussie.

Advance Australia Fair sounds good to me only at the rugby, when everyone proudly belts it out. It pales against the NZ, Irish, RSA, Scottish and Welsh anthems though.

I'll walk the Broadwater park sometime today and, like every year, the barbequers will all - all - have stumps out and a cricket bat. It fascinates and delights me every year. You see white fellas, black fellas and yellow fellas, families, young people and older crews all with a cricket pitch and nearly all with an Australian flag. It just spontaneously happens that way.

I'm most fortunate - Stradbroke Island and Main Beach as a backdrop a few hundred yards across the water from a treed park 3 miles long - quiet, clean and free. My children in Sydney pay $30 or more in parking fees to enjoy the same thing near their Northern Beaches homes.

Just now Mrs Mick found something worthy on the TV - I heard Bryan Brown's voice and asked "The Shiralee"? No, "Blood Oath" - one of those films which accurately portrays straightforward Australians as I witnessed growing up. Much like Jack Thompson in "Sunday Too Far Away" and a bevy of good performers in "The Odd Angry Shot".

I love the joint and enjoy today immensely with mates later on. I am saddened the Australia that we crafted is being fouled by politicians who despise all that we are and all that we have.

Well said Mick and what a shame some people in Canberra egged on by Michael Anderson had to make fools of themselves because they were told that Tony Abbott said the "Tent city in Canberra had to be pulled down".

He said nothing of the sort. Have a look at his words on the telegragh or ninemsm.

Hi Cav, hope you have had a very good day.

Love the videos Kae. Especially the "Diggers".

Kae did you get home ok, or are you still in Sydney, due to the flood waters?
