Rudd odd? Who'da thunk it

Malcolm Turnbull has described Kevin Rudd as odd and lacking in manners.

I think that Kevin Rudd has demonstrated his oddness on many occasions.

The oddness may be part of a personality disorder.

Here's one I googled just now:

Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Symptoms

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

(1) has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)

(2) is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

(3) believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)

(4) requires excessive admiration

(5) has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations

(6) is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends

(7) lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others

(8) is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her

(9) shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Oh my goodness!

Hey Kae,

sounds like someone else we know!

The problem I think is that such people seem to increasingly thrive in modern environments - politics, bureaucracy, academia or sometimes business. Like a virus finding ideal conditions.

Our world needs a dose of acidophilus - the good germs which push the bad ones out.

Kae, I know the VRWC has secret surveillance channels and space rays and stuff… but you seem to know an awful lot about my ex-wife!

Shhh, splice - its' supposed to be a secret and I can't reveal my sources... I mean my sources are secret... secret sauces, er, sources.

I have to move some plants so that dog doesn't destroy all of them. I think he's be saving ALL his beans today until I got home.. we've done the lap jump up, and then jump off, game a few times, now we're doing the shake the knotted rag rope around and see if we can kill it...
NO, wait. It's rest time...
No, that only lasted a few seconds, just thinkin' about what we can get into...

He's adorable, I think that's why I brought him home.

I think a lot of people in politics have this condition.

hence why they are attracted to that profession.

Politically I utterly despise him. But as a man, a human under the spotlight my heart bleeds for him. It almost hurts me seeing sour look of childish hurt smear over his little baby face when he is caught out. Somehow he’s so transparently conceited and foolish it is almost to hard to watch… like a nasty bitter black comedy can be.

My gut says he has self-worth or pride problems. The urgency to be the *hero* is palpable. Jumping up with out thought or experience or even knowledge to tell half the world off over this and that. gaining self importance with gossip etc.

He seems genuinely idealistic too… Day by day we get to see his heart slowly sinking as the realisation he can’t give us all a new lap top sinks in. Along with this foolish but nice quality I see a sleazy little liar as he bullshits himself and 70 percent of the nation to sleep at night.

Once the press fully turn on him he’s going to be dead meat. The Libs have started to point out the oddities and it won’t be hard to paint him as a creepy weirdo. One of the funniest in the last few days was someone called him a hairdresser over the G20 gossiping.
