Insiders

Woin Swan bangin' on.

Marr: Australians have a fear and loathing of boat people. Xenophobia.
No David, that's not correct.
And the female panellist has it right.
It is that the boat people are not following proper procedures to enter Australia and claim asylum. It is the dishonest way that they arrive, destroying their papers in the hope that they will get into Australia as bona fide asylum seekers by lying about who they are and where they come from. None of these do-gooders believe this nor do they accept that people would lie about their qualifications/reasons for claiming asylum. If they've travelled from the middle east/Sri Lanka through many countries or by air (for all of which they need visas and travelling papers), but mainly coming from Indonesia. Some of them have applied for asylum in Indonesia and it has been granted and they are waiting to be placed, others have applied for asylum and have been refused recognition and these are the ones who usually are accepted as refugees.

Oh, Piers!

Now we have Kevin Rudd's climate change speech at Lowy Insitute. He's nuts.

It will be interesting to see the 4 Corners program on ABC Monday night, which looks at the Liberal party's internal, um, disagreements on the ETS/CRAP/Copenhagen, etc.

An ETS is inevitable... this is what Marr says. I hope not!

Did you see Laurie Oakes interview Barnaby Joyce on 9? Barnaby came across very well, calm, erudite and presented his position well.

For my part the best was when Oakes made the comment that some have been calling for him to be disciplined by Turnbull, i swear i thought Barnaby was going to laugh.

I think Oakes is starting to reassess his viewpoint regarding kevvie his former house mouse.

Hi Carpe
I will try to find it... Meet the Press (is that where it was?) was almost finished by the time I realised that it was on.

Oh no. Meet the Press is on 10, isn't it! Can you find a link for the Oakes/Joyce interview?

It's a shame that it is only now that these "journalists" are realising that they've been monumentally conned. Rudd. ALP. AGW/CC, and so in, infinitum. Perhaps they should work harder and do some research in future?

I hate wogs like that.

It's going to rain here soon, and it's quite warm.

Not as hot as Wednesday last week when it was 38 degrees. Phew!

From what I heard from Melbourne and Sydney that night you pair could have done with some of our excess degrees! I'da given youse about 18 to play with and squabble over...
