Insiders 26JUN11

Brown wants to take on Tony Abbott, who he almost (but was interrupted), called an idiot.

Gee whiz.

Are we sure that Bob Brown is still alive?

Nick Minchin may start "Friends of Carbon Dioxide"... good on him.

insiders 6MAR11

Note:

Listening to supposed commentary cartoonists laughing at their own lame jokes is not funny. It's a bit like the pathetic efforts on commercial morning radio. They aren't funny, either.

Obviously the pair of wankers on Insiders thismorning can afford* to pay heaps more for everything, including their fruit and veg. Ha, ha, ha. Funny joke that.

*they're being paid too much!

Insiders 20FEB11

Sara Helter-Skelter is the guest green lefty.

The intro to the show is about the only thing which happened this week, the funeral and the nine year old orphan.

Boo-feckin'-hoo.

There are nine year old Australian orphans who get bugger all from the government, there are plenty of kids in care of grandparents who get bugger all fromthe government.

There were some people interviewed/recorded who seem quite close to the edge of sanity in their defence of the boat people "Haven't they suffered enough?". Well, how about you pay for the funeral flights etc.? None so blind. As the old saying is, they bought their tickets....

They're going to hang Morrison, and the Libs, and elevate the ALP.

I hate the MSM in Aus. They're pointless and useless. They don't report the facts, they aren't impartial.

I'm going to read the papers...

Headline on today's Courier Mail makes me sick. Bligh at 60% popularity.

I'm going to be sick.

Update:
For Merilyn

A Galaxy poll, conducted exclusively for The Sunday Mail, reveals the Premier's satisfaction rating has soared from a perilous 25 per cent at the depths of the controversial asset sell-off before Christmas to 60 per cent now.
Read it and weep... at the stupid!

Insiders - 13/2/11

Will the discussion be on the disgraceful behaviour of Mark Riley, Seven and the MSM this week in trying to blacken the name of Tony Abbott?

Julia cries at the condolence motion....

And now we go to Barrie and it's on about Abbott and the Riley ambush.

Riley still needs his backside kicked.

But they focus on Tony's silence.

And Riley defending himself by saying that it wasn't an ambush, and he gave Tony Abbott the questions.

Annabelle's hair... busy with a baby, no time to brush... (sorry)

Program guest is Tony Windbag. Yawn.

...I gave up paying too much attention, whey they said the story of the Abbott ambush was his silence... WTF?

Insiders 24/10/10

Communcations minister looks to have had the same hand waving classes as Julia Gillard.

It's distracting.

Aside from the fact that what he's saying is spin, spin, spin.

Insiders 22/8/10

I taped it and meet the press because I had to go to Open Day.

Problem is that I taped it using G-Code and unfortunately it taped Channel 10.

G-Code sux.

I'll watch it tomorrow sometime, I hope.

Andrew Bolt was on.

Insiders 15/8/10

Analysing the polls.

Brian Toohey
Karen Middleton
Malcolm Farr

They had some vision and grabs of Gillard and others banging the drum that Tony Abbott doesn't know anything about broadband, they've really given that a good showing, and then not terribly much about the Coalition's rebuttal - Why doesn't Gillard and her gang get the same treatment as the coalition? The questions asked regarding transmitters and poles etc. by Red Kerry of Tony Abbott are just ridiculous. How would he know?

Tony Abbott guest in the studio today...
Barrie's hammering the "Why don't you have another debate?" angle.
Abbott replied that debate isn't really what the public needs to make them aware of what the parties stand for. It would be better to have a town-hall type event like the one at Rooty Hill RSL, which Abbott says could have been more widely fed.

Interesting program today.

Plibersik likened the NBN to the supply of electricity. Well, most of us can't do without electricity now and many of us have it, broadband isn't necessary for all of us to have.
And by the way, Tanya, there are still people who use kero fridges and gas lights where putting on the power is too costly for them. How about you sort them out with taxpayer funded largesse?

Talking pictures... yawn.

Surfing lessons for the refugee organised by Getstuffed, it still hasn't been collected.

OOh, a busload of people journalists doing the YMCA hand movements, obviously channelling Gillard... That was funny.

Here you are, Barnaby Joyce (Nats) v Christine Milne (Greens)

Now I must fly to the chemist, ran out of blood pressure tablets last night.

Insiders 8/8/10

First up, the farce that was the ALP campaign starring Gillard, Rudd and Latham yesterday...

Gillard is live from Darwin in a few minutes - should be interesting!

Kerry Ann Walsh
Fran Kelly
George Megalogenis

Poor Gillard being monstered by Latham - what?

LOL
Senior reporters not on the campaign trail so that they can give more balanced reporting.. WTF?

Gillard guest...

I'm for this, this and this
And Abbott's going to cut everything...

Yeah, cracked record.

More about Kevin's passion (and hers) for Australia. They're working together. More repeating of the mantra, and, as Kevin said, "We can't let Abbott slide into..."
Touched on the GFC and how the Rudd government saved Australia.
Orgill and the BER rort investigation - Julia says it's all ok. Waving hands around and arm in the air. Flapper, that should be her name.

Sara Hanson-Young - why does this oxygen theif get air time?

No doesn't mean no... is this expression now copyright forever to the anti-rape mob? What else can't we say? Perhaps it would be different if Abbott's opponent was a man, noone would have thought anything of the use of "no means no".

Talking pictures...
Those dickheads are so busy laughing at their t'riffic humour it's really annoying, especially when they're laughing at Tony Abbott.

Chris Uhlmann speaks of yesterday's ALP debacle of an election campaign.

This is clever from Potemkin Villager at Bolt's tips thread today.

Insiders 1/8/10

Should be a hoot.

Just watched Laurie Oaks interview Tony Abbott on 9, lets see what's going to happen today on Insiders with the ALP not looking very good in the polls.

It's about Gillard's not supporting the pension rise etc. And about the leaking from the ALP.

Kevin is an honourable person, he's just a bit strange. OK. A lot strange.

Marr
Akerman
Lenore Taylor

The adenoidal Depootee PM is the guest on Insiders today.

Hey!
Anyone else think that Wayne Swan is being fed his facts and figures in the interview? With the stops and starts happening it seems like he is. Oh, it's been explained as feedback/echo down the line.

Will Marr put a sock in it? (Marr thinks he's important, perhaps even the centre of the Universe - loud and proud is the expression I think. He's got a head of hair many would die for, though.)

Lenore is defending the attendance of Gillard's body guard instead of Gillard at a security meeting. She said that a pollie's body guard would be better than your average bouncer and would have a degree or a PhD... (what utter rot!).

Julia still sounds like a bogan.

The image of Gillard...
Abbott's body shape might excite you (Marr) somewhat
(from Piers, a pearler, but Marr denies it - guess athletic isn't Marr's type).

Marr talks about the ALP's failure to launch which will enable them to have their staff on the public purse for weeks.

Talking pictures is hammering the Abbot "use" of his family - I guess it's seen to be unfair when you have no spouse and kids to tout for you... Poor Julia - everyone's out to outshine her... which isn't hard. Then they go onto AWW's Gillard spread - the cartoon host says that they weren't touched up, or minimally touched up... WHAT?!

Oh f'king great. Now my picture's gone to crap. No reception. I'm so glad we have digital now. I couldn't watch something on ABC last night because the reception was crap.

Insiders 11/7/10

Misha Schubert
Gerard Henderson
Karen Middleton

Guest is Stephen Smith Mininster for Foreign Affairs. Who tells us how hard he works for the benefit of Australia and Australians...

Death of Australian soldier Nathan Bewes in Afghanistan.

Your Shout
Leftist winemakers and brewers from Adelaide. The token woman sounds a bit like Julia Gargle. The topic was illegal immigrants. 'The government and the opposition are appealing to the xenophobic vote."

Oh gee, I missed most of the rest of it... what a shame.

The cartoons were good, taking shots at Gillard...

Insiders 4/7/10

Guest Mar'n Ferg'sn.

Malcolm Farr

Andrew Bolt

Phil Coorey

All about Julia.

Illegal boat people.

Max McWho is in trouble. What else is new?

Julia's elevation. Supportive locals.

Mar'n really needs subtitles...

Insiders 27/06/10

ALP disintegration and the fall of a PM... Did you hear, Australia has a new, female, PM? Yeah, I know. Big whoop-de-doo, different PM same crap policies.

Should be interesting.

Tony Abbot is the guest on the program today...

Mischa Schubert, Piers Ackerman, Brian Toohey.

Wayne Swan at the G20... Oh dear, they asked Wayne what happened in the Australian government - not the bloke to ask. (arses and elbows)

Tony's on now... he's right about the lovefest for the new face... Gillard is the champion spinner (re: boat arrivals)... dog whistles about population are claimed of any statement by the opposition, however, now Gillard's talking about population control. Gillard was the advocate for no population control, and now she's for population control. Spending on BER should be suspended and a new method within the schools to decide on how best to spend the money.

Your Shout.
Oh dear. Oh wait, no, oh dear.

Discussing the chopping of Rudd. Onya, Piers, not following the pack... reply to Mischa's comment about Piers being right so often?

Hey, is Mischa pregnant? That'll learn her for sitting in Annabel Crabbe's seat! (Forgive me if she isn't!)

Gillard said she wouldn't cave to stop immigration - but now she's having a bet both ways.

Alex Downer's opinion on Rudd as Foreign Minister... not with a barge pole... interesting to see/hear/read all that Downer said.

Talking pictures... All bout Julia no-chin. Talking "the body language of Julia Gillard..." they can read her like a book. Talking about the fall of Rudd and the photographs...

I think it was the 60 Minutes interview which killed him. The fakeness and the running away pet.

Tony Abbott at the Liberal council meeting yesterday.

The ABC broke the leadership challenge and there was huge denial within the ALP ranks, and at the top of the program it was pointed out that Rudd hadn't told any of his ALP supporters that he wasn't going to stand, so at doorstop interviews they were saying they'd support Rudd and making total fools of themselves. Rudd wasn't a team player.

The transcript could be interesting for little gems from the players.

Update:
Merilyn, is this the one you meant, "Feisty at four"? There you go, thanks Merilyn!

Insiders

What?

Couldn't they find a conservative journalist/opinion writer?

Bob Beige is in the studio.

The way he's sitting in his seat, he looks relaxed - yeah, fright-or-flight relaxed.

Insiders...

Andrew Bolt is in the centre seat...

Advertising by the government, taxpayer funded. Interesting how the finger is pointed at Howard, and the previous government, who spent $280M in today's money on advertising in their final year, whereas the ALP have only spent less than that much ($200M) in the past 2 years.

Funny, how much is it when you add up all the broken promises and the shemes and plans which have cost money? The batts, the $900 tax rebate, the grossly swollen costs of the BER, and so on.

BER? Building the Education Revolution? Ha. Shoulda paid more for more teachers...

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Floyd - shoulda called him Houdini (and Insiders)

I missed Insiders. Marr? Erk, didn't miss much, huh? Misha.

WTF is the mob with the chess set? Good grief... only caught parts of it.

Okay, the reason I missed Insiders was... I crawled out of the crypt at about ... late*. I'd heard some funny noises outside, but thought that I must have been dreaming.

When I walked through the family room I saw something flash through the grass. I put the kettle on and went to say "Hello!" to Floyd.

Okay, the rope is coiled up next to the dogbox, under where it's tied. Oh-oh!
I whistled, I called. Up from the long grass comes the wet Wonder Woofer. He had muddy feet from the dirt and jumped up on me... as he does. (I encouraged him.)

He had a run and several games of playing "you can't catch me" with me, but I didn't chase him.

Later I looked at the rope and the dog clip had pulled through the swivel thing which is tied to the rope. So, that's several different ways he's got off the rope.

I have to go out today for lunch with MDFD because I forgot to give her the pumpkins I had for her the other day, so I'm meeting her at a pub up the road for lunch... I need to get a clothes airer and one of those things that you put your stuff on and hang it in the shower from the junk shop near the pup.

By the way, David Marr thinks he's got a grip on the Mining tax... and then he displays he hasn't.

A milestone slipped by yesterday... I passed the 12 months "not having to get up at 5am to beat the traffic to drive to work" marker. Yay. So, why am I not up to speed with the mowing, etc? I blame my shoulder.

OMG, Marr criticises the government for the waste of money advertising their new health proposals. Okay, it's finished now, I have to do stuff around the house - hang out the sheets (they'll never dry), and maybe put the electric blanket on the bed in case I need it to warm the bed up for me.

*I even went to bed early, but I've been exhausted lately and decided to get as much zuzzes in as I could.

Insiders 28/3/10

So, did I miss anything?

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Insiders 21/3/10

Will it be interesting...

About the Tasmanian and South Australian elections.

George Megalogenis - Tasmanian election newspapers.

Misha Schubert -

Michael Stutchbury -

Your Shout, Madonna King (ABC Brisbane) at Bicycle Australia. Interesting, they reckon that Abbott may become PM...

Some of the argy-bargy in parliament this week... Abbott was a tiger!
Search for Latham and then Darwin, for the argy-bargy about health.

Interesting points from George about debate about funding and finance.

Talking pictures had a photo of Rudd in parliament with his comb over falling off his head... LOL, but I can't find it... this will have to do:

Oh look. And he's still a dweeb, and he's got the head-tilty thing happening, too.

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Insiders 14/3/10

Dennis Atkins - on Rann

Fran Kelly - Rudd's rudeness to Keneally, and comparison to his warmth to Anna Bligh.

Glenn Milne - Tony10 domain name has been registered. But by a Liberal supporter, not the Liberal party.

Comment that Kevin could delay the election and could use the slogan Kevin11 - God forbid.

Wayne Swan is the studio guest. Reckless and erratic behvaiour of Abbott... not Howard any more... and the ALP and Rudd isn't reckless and erratic. Worth a listen to Wayne's blather just to hear that... I'll post a link when it's up.

Here's the link, but the show won't go up for a while after it airs.

Your Shout
University of Melbourne Debating Society (that'll be balanced). Are they old enough to have babies? A lot of 'ums' from the first speaker. And, like, way too many 'likes', like, from the third speaker, like.

ALP Message on Health regarding the Lib/Nat coaltion is:

Glenn Milne on obstructionism, and the measurement of the number of bills knocked back by the Lib/Nat coalition.

60 Minutes interview where Abbott had said he felt threatened by homosexuality. Glenn Milne spoke of his knowledge of previous experience of Abbott with homosexuality. And that didn't come out quite right. I'd say that Mr Abbott had been hassled by men who batted for the other team in the past.

The letter from Garrett to Rudd regarding the home insulation program. Rudd received this letter in mid August. And the panel is ripping into that performance by Rudd in parliament. And I can't find it in Hansard.

I found this from Mr Hunt interesting... Hansard, 10 March 2010, page 44

Oh, here we go. Hansard, 9 March 2010, Page 11.

Mr ABBOTT—In question time today the Prime Minister claimed that as health minister I had neglected cancer services in the Northern Territory and he bignoted himself for recently opening a new cancer service in the Northern Territory. I inform the House that on 29 March 2007 the Territory health minister and I announced the investment in cancer care in the Territory and the service that the Prime Minister opened the other day, and I seek leave to table the relevant press
release.
Leave not granted

Talking Pictures - yawn.

Insiders

Will I? Won't I?

No signal on TV... maybe not?

I'll retune it and see. Some days back I noticed that the Panasonic DVD recorder (old one, no hard drive), was flashing "please wait". I couldn't turn it off. I couldn't open the DVD drawer. I tried a lot of things but nothing worked. Disconnecting the power turned it off, but the TV lost signal. WTF? The TV has its own HD tuner. Turned the DVD back on.

Okay, the auto tune has finished. ABC has disappeared, as has the slot for SBS (which has never worked very well). I can only get ABC on analogue now. Grrr.

We'll see how the program goes, and whether my friends I'm having lunch with arrive at their destination early (I'll have to leave home to meet them).

Okay
Chris Ullman is hosting.

Rudd plays doctors.

Laura Tingle - PM lashes Brumby on health.

Brian Toohey - ASIO recruits fill top jobs

Phil Coorey - Neal punted by Labor

Joe Hockey special guest - Labor will never pay off its debt, Labor will never finish with a surplus. Rudd will be long gone to the UN when the ramifications of the new hospital plan turn to adverse results.

Your Shout
Honeybees Choir.
1. Federal gov't looking after hospitals while being advised by local hospital boards.
2. Wildcard. We should stay healthy.
3. Good mix in Aus between Candain and US health systems.

3. Look at the insulation debacle!
2. Food is the foundation, medicine is treating the symptoms not the disease. (She should write a self help book, to tell people how they should live - perhaps hire herself out to go into people's homes and direct their entire life.)

Brian Toohey - just summed up Rudd. Rudd is a very bad policy maker, but Rudd thinks he's a genius.
Laura Tingle -Rudd thinks he is the government.
Phil Coorey - Rudd's unsustainable micromanagement.

Looks like Rudd's stopped spinning, and is now running around in circles.

Toohey - kids really don't need to know grammar. Kids these days are really more literate.
Ullman - as an army brat who had three school changes and three changes in writing styles in one year he quite likes the idea of an Australian curriculum.

Bullying - Rudd said it's quite OK to phone the parent of the bully and discuss the problem. Which went down like a tonne of bricks with the anti-bullying experts. ) I'd say it would depend on whether the parents of the bully were themselves bullies.

Sorry, I lost interest in Talking Pictures, was writing the next post...

Insiders 28/2/10

Because I'm an hour behind there's little point blogging about this when Andrew Bolt (and maybe Tim Blair), are blogging about today's special program with Rudd as the guest.

Memo to Tony Abbott

Please, refrain from using the expression "sexing (whatever) up".

Best wishes
Kae

Lenore Taylor

Gerard Henderson

Malcolm Farr

Sorry. I'm going for coffee with my friend. Then I'll come home and see about whippersnippering if it isn't raining.

Bloody snakes.

Rudd's just finished and I'm sure he's still full of shit.

OMG! Talking pictures is ripping into Rudd (and Garrett). Alan Moir is the cartoonist.
