I watched Channel 9's coverage. The line-up was

Christine Wallace - some lefty woman who writes books and who's married to someone with political, lefty connections.
Peter Costello - ex Treasurer of Australia under John Howard.
Nicola Roxon - ALP Health Minister and nasty pastie.
Karl Stefanovic - closet RWDB and AGW non-believer
Lisa Wilkinson - married to Fitzy... need I say more?
Laurie Oakes - hmm, interesting take since the election... respects Tony Abbott and says he'll make a good PM if he can curb his ego and outbursts
Michael Kroger - Vic Liberal power broker (and I take back what I said about the years not being kind to him... he's not bad)
Mark Arbib - ALP Senator
Barnaby Joyce - BCommerce (Armidale), accountant (oops, fixed the error there)


This was just too good to miss... Swan pwned by Kroger... But this isn't all of it!

Swan dribbles on, then Lisa askes about what kind of retrospection this election swing will bring on. Then Karl Stefanovic has a go about the swing. Then Kroger, then Wayne Swan calls Michael Kroger a "raving lunatic"... goodness! Then Barnaby reiterates what Kroger says when Kroger finishes. Nicola butts in and defends Swan by saying that they've had a long night and she's had to put up with much more. Poor dear.

After this Christine Wallace, ever after known as the "woman-troll on the left", said they were all rude to have a go at Swan.

Then Oakes asks a curly question about speaking with Julia and how she feels about the election result... and Swan's got static and noise so he can't hear. And he's proud of this government's record.

Nothing to be proud of there! And Costello shakes his head... and Barnaby says he's taken "us to hell in a handbasket".

Gillard's serious policy?

The serious policy in schools was announced today... they're going to reward schools which improve their students' performance with more money.

I would have thought that finding out why students are not doing well, and why a school's performance is below par would be the most important thing, and then if the problem can be fixed with more money for training or facilities then those schools should be helped.

THE MEETING

Cold War scholars may be reminded of a mood that prevailed in the early 1960s, although the US and the USSR were never quite this hostile. Reporters following developments essentially found themselves in a siege situation:

Before leaving Melbourne, journalists were bused to an airport hangar only to see Ms Gillard’s commonwealth car drive past.

They were then taken by bus to a different airfield location to board a separate flight to Brisbane.

After landing, the photographer and video cameraman allowed to attend the meeting left in a media vehicle accompanied by a Gillard staffer.

They were told they would later change vehicles to a taxi.

Is this before or after the blindfolds?

The remaining media were bundled on to a bus to be taken to an undisclosed location, where …

… they were shot and dumped in a pit. Well, it wouldn’t exactly be a surprise. They knew too much. About the meeting! All of this was mere prelude to the meeting itself:

I've been flat out at work so haven't posted anything.

The election campaign is a shambles, I'm unsurprised by the number of numbnuts who will still vote for the ALP despite their ineptitude and blatant failures over the past three years.

I'm sick of the lying advertisements for the ALP, against Tony Abbott, dribbling about WorkChoices. They are on in every ad break. The ALP can't afford publicity like that, more's the pity.

Floyd will be two tomorrow, he's been carrying on strangely tonight - like he did when the snake was out there. But there doesn't seem to be any snake. We've had two warm days in a row, 27C each, but rain yesterday and overcast and humid today.

If I get a chance I'll take some pics of him tomorrow. Depends on whether I get any work done about the place.

Biased reporting

So, the campaign begins. The bias is obvious.

On the 7 news the reporter is attacking Tony Abbott - but there's no attack at all on Gillard...

And people think that the press is biased against the ALP!
