Sick of ALP lies

There's been a big deal made out of Tony Abbott's reply to a question on why he wouldn't visit Australian troops in Afghanistan on a tour with Gillard. His reason has been lambasted and trumpeted as a "weak excuse" by all the MSM outlets.

Now we find out why he made such a lame excuse - and the whole reason had to make an excuse is that Gillard put him on the spot by publicising that she'd offered for him to travel with her when she would have been wholly aware of his plans to travel to Afghanistan on his way home from his UK trip.

The lame excuse given by Abbott just shows very well that the man is not an accomplished liar. He was uncomfortable with the question, he surely didn't expect it and it threw him.

Hohoho.
As if the Diggers in the 'Ghan don't read media reports online or get letters and emails from families.
The square gaiting PM stood in it bigtime this time.

Then again, I would be surprised if very many military people voted for her anyway. Usual spin and bulldust.

Think Tony Abbott expressed it the best.

Hmmm -- the whole episode, as disgraceful as Gillard has been, could make for a few interesting questions on parliament about what she said and what she knew. It could even make an interesting censure vote against Gillard for deliberately endangering the lives of our troops as well as the life of the Opposition Leader.

It will be interesting to see what the Libs do. I know if I was Abbott I would be very very annoyed. A censure motion would be in order, not a vote of no confidence (yet) and it would really show who has any principles (left) in parliament. Particularly with the independents.

Agreed, Wand.

Getting it aired in parliament will be the best place to get it all on the public record.
Unless the Libs do some urgent fight-back on this, Tony Abbott's jet lag could become his plastic turkey.
Today's msm are still giving little or no coverage to Gullard's duplicity.
What amazes me is that the msm and public are so easily duped.

The link I put up may not work Kae, [still learning how to do it,]. So will if it is o'k with you put up his words, "It was an act of bastardy", and he is right.
Another point, was How did that reporter know how to ask that question, as Tony Abbott got off the plane? Remember, it was supposed to be a "private" conversation with Julia Gillard, prior to him leaving Australia.
Agree with Wand to.

ALP-media lies. Is this an oxymoron?

No, it's a "truism".
