I recorded a movie during the week, the latest remake of the triffid story.

I should have realised within the first half hour of the program at the mention of AGW and triffid oil saving the world from AGW that it would be crap.

Although I must admit that having the AGW cause mentioned in a Science Fiction movie is approprate, it's where the theory belongs.

I don't recall any mention of AGW in John Wyndham's The Day of the Triffids.
But then, I read it in 1952 and my memory is not all that good.
What I do remember was that we were very worried about the atomic bomb's effect on the weather, but it was more cooling than warming.
AGW causes everything nowadays. Even the Sumatra earthquake and tsnumai were blamed on AGW by one of the surfies that had to climb up a tree.

Skeeter, you can see a lot up in a tree, who knows what divine inspiration came his way with the logo 'AGW did it' emblazoned all over it.

Which Star Trek movie had them bringing a whale back in time to save us all?
